Some time ago I created a small service and it was at that time one of my first services that I created within ROSS. Not the regular stuff, but a little magical trick created with RES ONE Service Store. For me at that time to practice a little more with the product but also to have fun with it. And when it is fun, it is usually easier to learn because of it.
This service was based on a card game. This card game my daughter got as a present from one of her friends and she told me that she could read my mind if I choose a number somewhere between 1 and 63. I was surprised that she really read my mind, so I tried it again a couple of times and each time she guessed the number I had in my mind.
How does the trick work?
The card game trick is based on 6 cards with numbers in the range of 1-63. By carefully selecting all the numbers on each of the 6 cards, some math can be done that will show a value that a user keeps in his mind in the range from 1 – 63.
By keeping a number in mind, by each card shown the number will or will not be shown on the card. If one of the number shows the number in mind, the upper left number of that particular card needs to be added up to the other cards also showing the number that was kept in mind. So, basically the sum of the upper left numbers and each card which can be 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 cards so the number of numbers to be added up would be 6 at the most.
So first, let’s start with the numbers on the 6 cards:

Just try it:
For example take number 40.
Card 1 =No (number is 0) , card 2 = yes (number is 8), card 3= no (number = 0), card 4 = no (number = 0) , card 5 =no (number = 0) , card 6 = yes (number=32).
So 0 + 8+0 +0 +32 makes 40.
